About Me
Barbara Mason Rast is an artist whose interest in illustration began in early childhood.
The works of many Golden Age Illustrators were inspirational in creating her fantasy- realistic style.
She has illustrated many children's books including THE CHOCOLATE TRAIN, ROCKSTER & THE GIANT ACORN
and CHLOE AND HER TWO RED SHOES. She is the author-illustrator of A FROG WENT A-WANDERING and
WATERMELON AFTERNOON. She is a trained commercial artist, children's book illustrator, author, and fine artist.
Her work has been displayed in numerous galleries, libraries, shows and businesses.
Nature is her primary inspiration; from it she creates many fantasy-realistic themes.
The main objective in her visual art and writing is to convey a sense of beauty and harmony, whimsy and
magical and dreamlike worlds.
